Happy New Year BossGirls! Welcome To 2022
It is past New Year’s Day. In this article I’m talking about the new year. I’m hoping to learn a lot more next year and do many new things next year.
We made it to 2022! I don’t know about you, but I feel like in the last year time has passed by faster than ever. Last December we were preparing to get ready for Christmas and New Year, now we are in the beginning of a new year and my, how quickly it has come around.
I’ve been reflecting on a lot of different things recently. This has been because my mind has had some free time whilst I’ve been convalescing. I’ve had a lot more time thinking and reading, which is something that I don’t normally do. Time to think is something which we are often short of these days, especially as a busy business owner. In this blog post I want to reflect on what I’ve learnt last year and what I’m hoping to do and learn next year.
What a new year means to me
A new year is a time of new beginning and new mindset. It's the time to look back at the past and then move forward with the best version of yourself.
I also believe that a new year is a time for change, it's a time to let go of the past and start anew. It's a time to look at yourself from a different perspective and be better than what you were before.
What I learnt in 2022
This year I learnt that it's better to ask for help when I need it. Being a BossGirl is about learning how to work with others and how to be a leader. It's also about learning how to accept help when you need it.
I learnt that time is precious, so if I have too many meetings, then I'm not getting my work done and this is something I need to change in the new year.
I learned that if you are dedicated and determined then you can achieve whatever you want in life.
My biggest lesson this year is that it's okay to say no when someone asks for more of your time, energy or ideas. The world doesn't come to an end if we don't do everything for everyone all the time, so we have to learn how to say no sometimes.
And finally, this year I learned that money isn't everything but being grateful for what you have is important.
Things I want to improve for 2022
Like most of us, I have a long list of things that I want to improve about myself. I want to be better at my job, better at managing my finances and better at taking care of my health.
I also want to stick to a routine to keep me motivated. The key here is finding routines that work for you. Whether you need to complete a certain task every day or once a week, I encourage you to create some sort of structure that works with your schedule and keeps you on track with your goals.
Time To Set your intentions
As we begin the new year, I would like to give you some advice. I want to talk about how we can set our intentions and what our goals should be this year.
I am not a big believer in resolutions because they are usually something that is so far away from your current life that it's hard to keep on track. But intentions are different; they are more immediate and I believe we can achieve them. We just have to do it one small step at a time.
''Focus on a small, manageable and realistic goal.''
Trying to get your entire life in order can be overwhelming, so pick one thing that you want to work on for the next few months. Maybe it's an activity you've been wanting to try out or an area of your life that's lacking.
Maybe it's time to start going to the gym, or maybe it's time to start meditating. It could be time to practice gratitude every day or start planning your spring garden. The key is to write down what your intention is and why you want to accomplish that goal. Remember when we talked about setting goals? Writing down your goals will help keep them top of mind and more likely to happen!
So make a list of the things you want to accomplish this month, but don't try and do too much at first. By setting small goals and achieving them, you'll not only feel great about yourself but you'll also be more likely to continue setting goals!
I've decided to focus on one positive change every day. Small steps add up to big changes. If I focus on one positive change every day, I truly believe my life can change.
Here's what I'm going to do:
- Workout at least 30 minutes every single day.
- Pay myself first and give myself a small allowance every day.
- Make time for at least one self-care activity every day.
- Eat more vegetables and drink more water!
I will share my progress here, but I also want you to share your progress with me! What does your list look like? Share in the comments below or tweet me @bossgirlsnow1 so we can support each other on our journey!
I believe that the small steps add up to big things. I also believe that if you focus on one positive change every day, you will be amazed at how your life can change!
No matter how many times you've begun a new year with resolutions, this year is different!
Take a few minutes, get quiet and reflect. Look back on all this year had to offer and what you've accomplished. What can you build on? What will you continue to do? Write it down, whether it's a visual list or a paragraph. Remember there is a difference between goal setting and being productive in your life. Goals set boundaries of future success but productivity is a way of life, something that has nothing to do with making future plans (that could change at the stroke of midnight) but more about who you are and how you choose to live in the present moment
Once you have established your goals for the new year, don't forget to take time each day to establish your priorities; time management is crucial in keeping the routine necessary for advancing towards your goals.
As always, moi et ma chérie wish you an amazing 2022!
